The hot air balloon flight was incredible! We flew over Karlstejn Castle which we had seen the day before and seeing it again from the sky was perfect. The whole day was excellent.

We’re so glad we decided to add the extra day to Karlstejn Castle. Prague was absolutely amazing as we had been expecting, plus the day trip out of the city was great as we could see the countryside and another historical site. We really felt like we got a better feel of the country this way. The meal in Karlstejn was incredible! And don’t forget to try the ice cream when they recommend it- it’s so good!

While this time wasn’t enough in Prague, the time there was perfect! We couldn’t believe everything we were able to fit into such a short time. The second day of the tour with our local guide was so amazing. We saw a lot of places and neighborhoods where we were the only non-Czechs and ate at an incredible restaurant that I wouldn’t have had the nerve to enter alone but it ended up being our best meal and we got to talk with the owners who were lovely. Thanks for setting up everything so perfectly.

Comment on Holašovice: Abandoned Town Frozen in Time by Denise

I had never heard of Holasovice before which is why when we did hear about it we immediately decided to check it out and WOW. It’s so cool to see this village which was able to keep these buildings from falling apart after so many years of abandonment. If you are really looking for something unique to do in Czech republic, then you have to check out this tour.

Our guide was just great. I enjoyed listening to his stories and learning how locals live. I had no idea that the breweries in Prague are sooo old and fascinating. If you really want to know Prague and it essential drink, beer -than I definitely recommend this tour. You will have fun and learn so many interesting things.

We were really impressed with this new concept about meeting a local person and my partner and I are really glad we tried it out. This tour was really different to other tours we’d had before. We got to meet local people and feel like we were part of something more than just a tourist from another place. We met a lovely old woman who had lived through the communist regime and had a lot to share about what life was like then. I’m very grateful for her stories. The rest of our tour was great, we had everything we needed (hotel and lots of meals) , plus lots of free time to explore Prague on our own, which was great because Prague is great for that – just going out and getting lost. I highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants something more than the normal tour.

Karlovy Vary was not originally on our list to see in Czech Republic, but after seeing some photos of the town we decided to go and luckily the town was exactly as I was hoping. The architecture along the river is so beautiful, I wanted to stay so much longer. But I was also glad to see the glass factory and where they make the spirits. It was incredible. Plus the tour guide was very good and knew a lot of information about the area. And lunch was superb!

This was the perfect combo of planned activities and non-planned activities. My friend and I were looking for something relaxing but also interesting for our time in Prague. It was nice to have all of the hotels and airport transfers taken care of, plus the extras like some of the meals (since deciding where to eat in a new place can be really overwhelming) . But definitely the best part was the day with a local. It looked like a really interesting concept and it definitely came through. We got to meet a really sweet old lady who showed us her home and told us about living during a communist dictatorship. Neither one of us had ever done something like this on a trip and we’re so glad we did. It was the highlight of the trip.

I actually live in Prague and was looking for something different to do and this tour was perfect. I got to explore a different part of the city that I’d seen little before and knew nothing about. Learning about its historical context was incredibly eye-opening. And our time spent meeting Jana, the elderly local woman who spoke about her time living through the communist regime, was unforgettable and really left an impression on me. I’d never spoken with someone of that age here in Prague (language barrier), so it was great to get to speak with her.
